We make Amrut Single Malt Whisky from Indian barley grown at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in Punjab, which means “the land of five rivers.” The unique Himalayan mountain water, combined with cold winters and fiery summers, produces a type of barley rich in nutrients and flavor. After local Indian farmers harvest the barley, we carefully mash and distill it in small batches to preserve the natural aroma of the Indian terroir. We then age the whisky at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level in oak barrels that rest for a minimum of 4 years.
