Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch uses exclusively malted barley, which the distillery mills and mashes with water sourced from the crystal-clear Robbie Dhu spring. This incredibly pure spring water is bottled directly at the source, and the distillery acquired 1,200 acres around the spring to protect its unique water supply. After mashing, the distillery ferments the barley in wooden fermentation tanks made of Douglas Fir. While wooden fermentation tanks are difficult to maintain, they absorb a portion of the heat generated during fermentation. Thus, enable a slower and longer fermentation process. Following fermentation, the wash undergoes twice-distillation through Glenfiddich’s copper pot stills. The distillery employs a craftsman onsite to tend to the uniquely shaped and sized stills. After distillation, the distiller cuts the heart of the distillate and prepares it for maturation.

Glenfiddich 40 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from the vatting of select casks maturing in the cellars of Glenfiddich Distillery, with each cask being at least 40 years old. The whisky has an aroma of dates, figs and dried apricots that gives way to notes of dried fruits, roasted coffee and baked apples on the palate. The finish is endless and complex, with touches of dark chocolate, faint peat and butterscotch.
