The 14-year-old Tullamore undergoes a finishing maturation of five to seven months in Madeira, Oloroso, and Port casks before blending. In contrast, this release comes from whiskey that spends ten to twelve months maturing in its specific cask finishes after aging in American oak that previously held bourbon.

As a result of both the blending and aging process, Tullamore DEW 18-Year Old Irish Whiskey has an aroma of malt, oak, apples, and tobacco. The palate consists of tropical fruit, vanilla, and butter, followed by a long sherry finish.
